Screening of Oyfn veg shteyt a boym (On the road stands a tree, 29 min. 2017) with Q&A in MidWest, via Het Jonge Dromers Collectief presents: Klezmagic and friends. The film Oyfn veg sheyt a boym emerged from an encounter between the musicians of Klezmagic and Yitschak Spiegl, who became the protagonist of this film. This event consists of a series of screenings and concerts and both Klezmagic and Yitschak Spiegl will be present.

On August 14 my project Lake Bottom Cinema will happen in the old village of Orah. An open air cinema on the temporary dry bottom of the Bileća lake screens a montage of found footage between the ruins of this flooded village.

A sneak peek for my new video work 'Spiegl': a live concert of a documentary opera. The concert is part of a crowdfunding to cover the last costs to finish the film. 'Spiegl' is a video work about the story of Yitschak Spiegl, a Jewish man who fled Czechoslovakia in 1988 in his early twenties and stayed in Austria as a refugee. The film can be seen as an experimental documentary, combining many different narrative forms, with opera as a main theme.

Following up on a talk about Oyfn veg shteyt a boym at the Radboud University in March, 2018, I am happy to present a screening of this film, combined with two other short films and a Q&A. The event Levens//weg is organized by Cultuur op de Campus and Expo Extravaganza. In the program, the other two films are 'Meisjes' by Guusje America and 'Edd' by Wendy Brugman.
The screening will be followed by a discussion with the directors about their experiences of filmmaking by creating intimate friendships during the process and the filmmakers will share their questions about responsibility, the power of a camera and the borders of the image.

The Taboo Series - SEX. There will be a lecture with related Q&A by Spoken Work-artist Anne Bosveld, an artist talk about the film Oyfn veg shteyt a Boym ('On the road stands a tree') and a conversation about the photographs of Sarah Fisher.
Each of the artist talks will take about 30 minutes and I will present Oyfn veg shteyt a boym by showing some fragments and discussing some of the main themes of the film.
